Why have we taken this approach?

Through our work with schools, we are aware that there is a wealth of information, resources and messages around the effective implementation of an ambitious mathematics curriculum. This can often help improve mathematics in schools, but it can also contribute to leaders and teachers feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to best meet the needs of their children.

At First4Maths Academy, we make it our mission to provide one place for teachers to access the training, support and resources they need to feel confident and empowered in their delivery of mathematics. We want teachers to have our support in planning a sequence of learning for every mathematical concept. We have provided this through a series of training videos that exemplify the progression through every mathematical concept from Nursery to Year 6. Teachers are provided with resources and activities to ensure that lessons can be tailored to the needs of all children. The step by step training ensures that teachers know how to support and challenge their children effectively.
