Case Study
Willaston CE Primary School, Cheshire
School’s position prior to working with First4Maths Academy
The school felt confident in their mathematics provision, however, when the school had a new Mathematics Subject Leader they wanted to ensure they had the best resources, support and guidance available. As a school, they wanted to continue to deliver an engaging, progressive curriculum whilst being able to support teacher professional development and foster pupil engagement.
School’s position now
Lucy Bell, Mathematics Subject Leader says,
“Since enrolling in First4Maths Academy, I have found the support and resources I need to excel in my role as a Mathematics Subject Leader.
First4Maths Academy provides a comprehensive set of tools, materials, guidance and support. Through access to a vast array of high-quality planning, videos, overviews and assessment materials, I am able to supplement our existing practices with support from the academy that fostered deeper conceptual understanding and mathematical fluency among our children. Additionally, First4Maths Academy’s emphasis on professional development continues to sharpen my leadership skills and refine our schools approach to mathematics provision.
As a result of my engagement with First4Maths Academy, I felt more equipped and confident during our recent Ofsted inspection and deep dive. The inspectors witnessed the ‘buzz’ and love for learning during observations and the inspectors recognised the impact First4Maths Academy was having on our pupils. Through subject leader training, expert-led zoom meetings and CPD, I gained insights into effective practices and strategies elevating and improving the quality of mathematics education within our school.
I highly recommend First4Maths Academy to fellow subject leaders seeking to elevate mathematics provision and drive improvement within their schools.”
